The result is that the automatic replacement which normally happens at publication time did not happen.
I believe that even if the individual I-D has expired it would still be good to have it automatically replaced by the WG document when this one gets published.

In Bess we have experienced the following. A document (draft-sajassi-bess-evpn-igmp-mld-proxy-01) was adopted as WG document and marked as such in the datatracker (2017-03-07): https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-sajassi-bess-evpn-igmp-mld-proxy/history/
