This step may no longer be necessary since the last time we created a NomCom, but I'd still like someone to take a look at let us know. These were the steps I was following after creating the Group (https://datatracker.ietf.org/admin/group/group/add/):
Go to https://datatracker.ietf.org/admin/nomcom/nomcom/add/ Search for the group you just created and find the group number in the URL Enter the group number into the field Remember to save!
Thanks so much!
This is likely (based on reading the crash reports) some interface (likely the admin) that led the secretariat to create the nomcom object twice. I'm speculating that it was the admin being slow and the add button got clicked twice.
Validation in the admin should prevent the crash and produce a more useful error message, even if we do make a workflow that keeps the secretariat from having to use this part of the admin to set up a new nomcom.
Describe the issue
In creating the appropriate nomcom "object" for the datatracker (as per the Secretariat procedures) at https://datatracker.ietf.org/admin/nomcom/nomcom/add/ I got this error:
"Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request. Either the server is overloaded or there was an error in a script used to generate the requested page. In case this was an overload problem or other temporary error, you may want to try again in a little while.
A failure report with details about what happened has been sent to the server administrators. It would be helpful if you would create an issue providing additional information at GitHub, too."
