Currently you can rotate your primary buffer using R and then followed by X,Y,Z (for the Cartesian directions, going through the middle of your primary buffer selection) or followed by F which rotates your primary buffer around a focal point through the middle of your secondary buffer. This is illustrated in the image bellow, indicated by R → F .
I would like the suggest the option for additional rotations. In particular the option to revolve the primary buffer around a line passing though your secondary buffer, illustrated as R → ? for HCO. Another similar option would be a line passing though the camera and the secondary buffer as illustrated by R → ? for CH.
