The text copy on the pages for the Monthly Meeting and VR+HCI are out of date. I previously updated the descriptions for each event and pinned them to the #event-info channel of the Twin Cities Gamedev Discord.

This is from what Mark has written for us in discord and can be used to update the event pages.

Here you can learn about igdatc's monthly events:

:microphone2: 2nd Wednesday, 6:00pm CT: Member Meeting :video_game: 3rd Wednesday, 6:00pm CT: Twin Cities Playtest :goggles: 4th Wednesday, 6:00pm CT: MN VR + HCI Meeting

NOTE: All events are currently online-only via Twitch (https://twitch.tv/igdatc) and/or AltSpace until further notice, due to COVID-19. See: https://igdatc.org/covid-19/ for more information.

:microphone2: Member Meeting

Our monthly member meetings, held on the second Wednesday of every month at 6:00pm CT, are igdatc's “main event” and an excellent way to meet game makers and learn new things. Meetings generally feature two presentations: a main presentation running 60-90 minutes, and a shorter “member project” presentation that runs 15-30 minutes (great for first time speakers!). Past presentations include game postmortems, technology previews, lectures, personal stories, live demos, etc.

Events begin with announcements and an opportunity for attendees to hop on stage (or on Twitch via Discord voice chat!) and talk about their latest project in front of an audience.

Afterwards, we gather for socializing and networking. For in-person events, we head over to a local bar and restaurant, Joe Sensor's. For events held online via Twitch, we gather here in Discord to chat and play games.

In-person events Held at Nerdery in Richfield, 15 minutes south of Minneapolis. Free and open to the public, you do not need to be an IGDA member to attend. Registration is requested via our Eventbrite page, where you can also see details on upcoming events. https://www.eventbrite.com/o/igda-twin-cities-chapter-751587541

Online events Streamed on Twitch at https://twitch.tv/igdatc

If you’re interested in presenting at a member meeting, please email events@igdatc.org.

Schedule 6:00p CT – Socializing (plus pizza at in-person events, thanks to Nerdery!) 6:30p CT – Announcements 7:00p CT – Member Project 7:30p CT – Main Presentation 9:00p CT – Wrap up, social hour(s!)

:video_game: Twin Cities Playtest

A new online-only event, every third Wednesday, 6-9pm CT, for live testing of in-development games. Sessions are streamed to Twitch, where anyone can watch, and sign up to play next!

Players don’t download builds and do not need a streaming setup. Devs only need to send an existing build to us. Games are hosted on a server running Parsec, a low-latency remote desktop service for games, which can even support “local” multiplayer titles.

Developers! Want your game tested? Contact @Peter Yang - ZettoVyker. Once on the schedule, you'll send builds to @Mark LaCroix.

Players! Instructions to participate:

Before the event: • Create a Parsec account: https://parsecgaming.com/signup • Install Parsec: https://parsecgaming.com/downloads/

During the event: • Post in #events-chat letting us know your Parsec username (and your IRL name if it’s different from your Discord nickname). • Open Parsec and click the Friends tab. Select Add Friend, type in igdatc, and send us a friend request.

When it’s your turn: • Mute your browser or close the Twitch stream. We don’t want audio feedback! • You'll be given access to the Event Stage voice channel, join that now! NOTE: If you’re not muted, your voice will be live on Twitch. • Once you see an option in the “Computers” tab in Parsec to connect to OWLBOX, click that! • After your request is approved, the game will take over your Parsec window and you're ready to play!

Players: Be willing to take notes/type out your comments for the developer. It's valuable intel! Be honest but be kind: unfinished games aren't yet finished!

Developers: Be present for questions and be open to constructive (and otherwise) criticism and feedback. Remember, the player is doing you a favor, and they know what they're talking about!

:goggles: MN VR + HCI Meeting

FWIW, I don't think these should have "Schedules" on them. Or maybe the schedule should be labeled something more like "Standard Schedule".

I did incorporate a few of these changes to the main event page when I updated its name to Gamedev Meeting.
