Same here:
I changed my password as well, it doesn't feels right.
When IGdm connects to instagram, it presents itself as a mobile device, otherwise it will not be allowed by Instagram to access some features. As you can see here, that there's a dummy list of device models that IGdm uses when connecting to Instagram. The "login attempt" notification you received is from your laptop (from IGdm to be precise), but Instagram sees as the device which it presents itself as. Does this make sense to you?
@ifedapoolarewaju Thank you for the explanation, it completely makes sense to me. May I suggest adding that to the FAQs or similar?
@ifedapoolarewaju THAT explaines a lot THX. And yes like @madeinjam suggested it should be in a FAQ. I grabbed igdm as an AppImage from the AppImageHub and there is on any App nearly the same description, no individual about the app itself or if its a valid, risky or proofed app or something else... Anyway - THX again
May I suggest adding that to the FAQs or similar?
Agree! I'll add this to my todo
I tried your AppImage today. Just to see what it offers. After I logged in with my account data, I received 3 more emails from 2 other devices, which are not mine.
My smartphone or laptop is otherwise perfectly recognized, such a behavior of an app is very suspect to me. Of course I changed my password immediately!
