subtitles in video with FFmpeg

Hi,
i want to make a mp4 video from an existing video file where i want to sync 
text frames with audio frames and images frames.i am able to sync audio with 
image frames by grabbing image from a video file and grabbing audio frames from 
another mp3 file.but how can i sync text frame with it. Is javacv provides any 
feature for it.
Please help me.
