The problem:

How to reproduce :

Just go on vimgolf.com display console and read : 

Embedded Search timelines have been deprecated. See https://twittercommunity.com/t/deprecating-widget-settings/102295.

Or run

rake test

You'll see same output as https://travis-ci.org/igrigorik/vimgolf/jobs/429312607 :

How to fix :

Apply recommendation from https://twittercommunity.com/t/deprecating-widget-settings/102295 :

To ensure timeline widgets look the way you want, we recommend clicking on the “Embed” link at the bottom of your timeline, which will direct you to publish.twitter.com 8.8k. Here, you can grab the equivalent embed code with all the settings in the embed code itself.

Problem: this new api does not allow displaying all recent '#vimgolf'

answer :

andypiper Twitter Staff Apr 14 Correct. We are withdrawing the ability to embed search timelines per this announcement, and we do not currently have a plan to directly replace or duplicate this same functionality.

Well, that's unfortunate. Reading through the options, none of them strikes me as a good substitutes and I don't think we're willing to hand curate these either. As such, the simplest thing would be to remove it entirely.
