First thanks for developing IGV, it is a wonderful tool !
I recently discovered hot-keys "(CTRL+)F" and "(CTRL+)B" to navigate through tracks
Variant to variant in a VCF
Region to region in a BED
I may have missed something, but it does not look like there is such feature for BAM tracks ?
=> May I suggest to add a "jump to next/previous soft-clip" for BAM tracks ?
It could check next BAM record for :
Presence of soft-clipping
If genomic position of first/last aligned base is different from current one
=> In order to really move from one soft-clip bloc to the next one (ideally)
I know it is a bit of a repurposing of IGV
=> But multiple people in my lab use "IGV scrolling" on their favorite gene, to find complex variants missed by variant callers (which can manifest by symetric soft-clip)
=> And having such "jump"could drastically speed up this tedious task
Thanks for any kind of help or answer !
Best regards,
Felix.
