Version number on sidebar

I believe this should be removed altogether. The very low number does not
inspire confidence, it isn't really necessary for a user to know the
version of something they cannot update (there are no version numbers on
google's page) and it dose not reflect the current build so has no use for
the dev's.

Perhaps there is a place in the code where a dev can read it for a version
number but only if it gets updated reliably.
