This has been overtaken by events (removal of mandatory requirement to have SpatialQuality
associated to all soundings and underwater hazards of less than 30 metres).
There is still discussion taking place within the ENCWG regarding the display of uncertainties in S-100 ECDIS, however based on discussions within the S-0101PT (particularly the decision to remove the attribute displayUncertainties
which provided the Data Producer with the capability to cartographically determine which feature instances to display the horizontal position and vertical uncertainties for so as to reduce screen clutter), it is considered by the S-101PT Executive that the requirement to have SpatialQuality
associated to all soundings and underwater hazards of less than 30 metres is removed for S-101 Edition 1.5.0 for consideration of the S-101PT.
Keep Issue open pending final decision for S-101 Edition 2.0.0.
Section 13.4.1 of the DCEG states:
"Where value of sounding is populated with an empty (null) value, the value for the attribute vertical uncertainty (uncertainty fixed) on the associated Spatial Quality feature must also be populated as empty (null)."
Does this imply that where value of sounding is empty (null), an association with a Spatial Quality information type is mandatory?
