Producer Code Issue #51

Open TomRichardson6 opened 1 year ago

TomRichardson6 commented 1 year ago

All cells in this repository need amending to reflect the new 00AA Producer Code registered in the GI Registry. This change needs to be made to support S-164 development.

kusala9 commented 1 year ago

Is the integer code for 00AA the same as the existing AA00 code?

kusala9 commented 1 year ago

references https://github.com/iho-ohi/S-164-Sub-Group/issues/12 - I'm guessing the dataset filename will also require a change at the same time?

Dear Tom, I have done the change of name before to see that you labelled "for 1.2.0 Update" , is it disturbing to deliver the next version with new code 00AA ? Pol

Dear Pol

No please proceed to use the new code when new editions of the cells are created. My aim is that all cells will have the new code when they are updated to edition 1.2.0

Jonathan please respond if you have any concerns as this will mean mixed IHO producer codes in S-164 exchange sets?

this is ok for me. We can accomodate the new codes and mix them up in the exchange sets. Basically I'll setup a set of parallel certificates with the new codes in them. We use producer code and integer code together as a key so it's still a unique identifier. Gradually over time all the cells should move to the new code. All the dataset names (and support file names) should change. Also all the certificates we have defined for "IHO acting as scheme administrator" (including those used for certifying catalogues) should change too. I'll make the new certificates up in the staging area for S-164 and we'll run them through when the datasets are ready. thanks for the update.
