@alvarosanuy, @TomRichardson6: Should the subject items be removed?

The scale boundaries and area pattern are added by the OEM/ECDIS. The subject viewing group is never output by any rule in the portrayal catalog.

OTOH, leaving them in provides a machine-readable mechanism to control the visibility of this manufacturer added information.

@DavidGrant-NIWC my initial reaction here is that we should retain them for now and seek feedback from implementers.

Could we raise an issue in the Portrayal Sub Group @alvarosanuy to seek OEM input on this question?
