This pull request is initiated to track changes since the publication of version 2.2.0.

Name changed to 3.0.0. Renaming of the sources/2.3.0 folder to sources/3.0.0 is still pending. However, the renaming should not yet be carried out to prevent possible tree conflicts with pull request #62.

@hasel001 just wanted to check that the purpose of this PR is just to track v3.0.0.

If the purpose is only for version tracking, you can mark the relevant commit as a "Git Tag". Then you can assign the version string '3.0.0' to the particular commit, and there is no need to keep an open PR.
