GAMS executable not found in PATH #456

ixmp show-versions returns the message "GAMS executable not found", while GAMS has been added to the path, both for system-wide and user-specific environments. Per discussions in Slack, an older version of GAMS (<40) was installed, but the problem exists. Are there any specific system requirements when ixmp looks for GAMS in the path and throws an error if not found?

Is this possibly related to install issues on macOS? If so, might it be answered by iiasa/ixmp#473?
