Yes, bash
would be the best thing to start with.

We may also give insights about other shells like zsh.
Most of students in our college (mainly in first year and second year) are not using linux. So, before conducting any workshops on bash or Linux tips and tricks, I suggest that we should conduct a workshop which focuses on FOSS, why should we use GNU/Linux and other benefits of open source products over proprietary products.
