+1. Any downsides to this change? (Other than the work of implementing it?)
Nice idea!
+1 from me also. And a confirmation for removal of portals/folders (and tags if this gets implemented) from the bookmark system would be greatly appreciated. I hit the X on accident on mobile and lost an entire 500+ portal folder of bookmarks. I'm still trying to locate all of those portals again.
Be sure to back up your bookmarks (and drawtools work!) on a regular basis.
Since they already talk to GDrive for syncing, it'd be cool (and a separate FR), to push backups directly there rather than downloading then pushing them up outside of the app.
@fkloft @jonatkins Is this something that you'd consider merging in if I branched and built it?
+1 for me too!
@dustingraham it's always easier to get it merged if you built it. If nothing else, could still be useful in the Ingress community.
I've started working on it. The main functions have been written, but the biggest problem is to structure and create a good UI and UX.
@ZasoGD Ok, thanks for the update. Let me know if you get stuck.
Any news on this ?
Enhancement suggestion. Instead of grouping bookmarked portals into folders, being able to tag a bookmark might be much more powerful. Then, a tab at the top of the bookmarks panel would be called "tags" and each tag lists all the bookmarks for that tag.
Then you could bookmark a portal as "anchor" "remote" "enemy anchor" "mountain peak" "verizon only" "no cell reception" "operation: xyz" "operation: abc" etc.
Seems like it would make sense to replace the folder functionality completely. The same functionality would still be available with tags, "untagged" would be in the root, then if all portals had a single tag it'd essentially look exactly the same as current folders.
