An error occurred during login: Could not communicate with the gatekeeper process. #250

When I tried connecting it to my GitHub account this error message in a pink box showed up:

"An error occurred during login: Could not communicate with the gatekeeper process."

And I cannot access my previous layouts. I used the latest Firefox 63 (64-bit) on a Windows 10 64-bits machine.

Do you have any ad-blocking or popup-blocking extensions installed? If so, that may be the issue. Try disabling them and see what happens.

If that solves the problem, you could try whitelisting "keyboard-layout-editor.com", and "kle-gatekeeper.azurewebsites.net".

It is not related to a browser or extensions. I tried to install different browsers after I received the error. Same error in all the browsers, firefox, chrome, opera. It must be something else. Is there any workaround to get at my files?

If you've got layouts already saved on GitHub, and you want to load them, here's a workaround:

  1. Log into GitHub, and go to your Gists page (account dropdown, "your gists", "see all your gists").
  2. Find the gist for the layout you want to load. The URL will be something like: https://gist.github.com/ijprest/68a723363bc73550d59504a32fa8a70a -- The last part of the URL is the gist id, and it's the important part
  3. Navigate to: http://www.keyboard-layout-editor.com/#/gists/68a723363bc73550d59504a32fa8a70a (substituting your own gist id, of course).
