Please see the timeline in #218. In spite of Ian being alive in 2018 and 2019, we didn't make it even to my suggested step 1. With a license fix this project could continue, either here if Ian would let some co-maintainers onboard, or in a fork if not where we could at least bring together other existing contributions. Without an actual open license this can't really go anywhere.
I do hope Ian is (still) alive. If you're out there, please do reconsider by proposal(s).
The proprietary license problem is really unfortunate. Especially in this situation where a lot of keyboard enthusiasts use the software and the code is technically free to peruse but not to (re-)use.
Lan is still alive, look: https://github.com/WICG/canvas-formatted-text/pull/39
I'm -just- scratching the surface of custom keyboards, and it already looks like things have changed A LOT since 2019.
Please, @iandoug -- reconsider @alerque's proposal. Let the community help you! 😃
Iandoug is not ijprest ... :-)
I also have some changes that I should submit a pull request for.
Have not heard from other Ian for many years. :-(
Sorry about that, @iandoug! Hopefully no one sees this thread when they're judging my reading comprehension. :D
It's interesting to me that @ijprest is still paying for hosting, or at least for a domain, for a site he's long abandoned.
I'm surprised people have observed his "no forks" wish for so long.

Seems like he stopped paying for it; it's down for me now. (and downforeveryoneorjustme.com agrees)
It is a shame that he never gave the approval for an open source license for the project.
Renewed (not by me)

bless, please review, do you have a koffi or some-such?
Hey @ijprest, long time no see 🙂 Some of us wondering, are you alive and have wills to maintain this project?
