VDem has a ton of indicator variables, or factor/categorical variables. Sadly this discrete/not continuous state is the nature of political science data a lot of the time.
We need to work out the implications of this for our analysis and ways to make things more interpretable.
I think if we could find a good solution for allowing indicator variables we could unpack the categorical variables as indicators, that might help.
