I imagine one of the most common uses of ConnectBot for users is to create a
dynamic forward to their remote machine and use a local tunnel for their proxy.
You should consider developing a widget perhaps as a toggle button that could
be setup to create a connection to a specific dynamic/local/remote port and
optionally update the proxy settings for Android while active.
Consider having it indicate the connection status in real-time. Offer an
option to automatically re-connect. I would think that if the connection is
lost, there should be an option to also automatically revert the proxy settings
to whatever they were before.
I would find this widget incredibly useful.
