ConnectBot freezes after login in. #456

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
Install Connectbot 1.7.1 on Milestone 2 with:

System version: 3.23.0.A953.Movistar.en.01
Android version: 2.2.2
Kernel version: 2..6.32.9-g59bc4cd
wmo038@zbr05lnxdroid07 #1
Build number: MILA2_U6_3.23.0

What is the expected output?
I expect to connect with my phone using SSH to my Netbook(running ubuntu 9.04)
through my WiFi network.

What do you see instead?
When i connect to my linux terminal(ubuntu 9.04) after i login, the program
lags and it takes seconds, sometimes minutes to type a command like "ls". The
linux terminal works fine(my HP netbook), and so the network(my home WiFi).
I've tested the linux terminal using Putty and runs fine(windows -> linux
[using putty]).

What version of the product are you using (you can see this by using Menu
-> About in the Host List)?
1.7.1

What type of system are you trying to connect to?
Linux ubuntu 9.04

If you are able to connect, what is the output of "echo $TERM", "uname -a",
It connects and logs in but i cant type anything because it freezes there, at
the enter command prompt.

and any other relevant information on the host?

Please provide any additional information below.
I think i'm missing some configuration on the phone. I'm new to android and i
dont know if theres any firewall or something that i missed to configure. I
rooted the phone, because i thought it would work that way but the problem
remains the same. Also i tried with "ConnectBot-svn-r505-english.apk" version
but the problem remains.

Any help or suggestion would be appreciated and please forgive any bad
spelling, english is not my native language.

Have same issue... freezes at command prompt with a blackscreen and the prompt
for text... phone seems to be getting hot when it does it. Is it trying to load
a filelist or something but it's so large (since the server is on my computer).

Fixed it, actually! On my ConnectBot settings for that connection (long hold on
the connection) I had previously turned off "Start Shell Session [Disable this
preference to only use port forwards]" and I turned on "Use SSH auth agent -
Confirmation only" and added a post-login ls command.

Hope this helps you, it was in May but maybe you'll get an email about it.

Forgive me, i could not make myself some spare time to answer this. I've also
solve this problem but by changing the emulation settings. I went from
XTERM-COLOR mode to just XTERM. Now everything runs smoothly.

Thanks anyway.

I've had this same problem since around May 2011. I've tried all the fixes
listed here, and enabled compression as well. XTERM doesn't work, either.
I've uninstalled, cleared cache partition and Dalvik cache, and reinstalled
using a new private key... same issue.
I've also tried writing the developers with no response. I have root and ADB,
and I'm happy to post logcat or any other helpful detail.
Server is Ubuntu 10.04 and DD-WRT, same issue on both. Please advise.

Thanks.
