I got my NDIS from windows active sync (for windows phones) which previously
worked with my motorola droid 1. I have the windows drivers for my samsung
charge and they work (which is how I rooted the phone). I have also tried to
install HTC sync thinking those driver may work.
running firmware 2.3.6 gingerbread kernel 2.6.35.7-EP4 build sch-I510.EP4

I think my build is virtually stock with the exception it's Debloated/Deodexed.

OK, finally figured it out. Downloaded Kies (Samsungs version of MS active
sync or HTC sync) and that got me the driver. Now it tries to acquire network
address which takes way too long then finally gives me a yellow triangle in my
tray and limited or no connectivity. I have my IP set to automatic, which is
how it worked on my D1. So one problem down, one more pops up
