Suggestion: Allow the Director to control one enemy #13

I've noticed that, although fun conceptually, the role of director can be kind of boring at times due to little direct involvement. This goes double if the director is relying on the strategy of using enemies which require waiting for them to be purchasable. So, I think it would address both of these issues if the director was allowed to take control of an enemy.

The infrastructure for taking control of enemies is pretty much already there, but I think if the option is always open to just take control of a random enemy and cease spawning, you're not really playing as the director anymore - you're moreso just playing a game of manhunt. Which PROBABLY IS fun in its own right, but I feel like something like that should be made into a separate, standalone mod that allows you to take control of enemies directly, rather than inserted here. Plus, if you want to control enemies to fight your friends, mods like Wonda's Refightilization already fulfil that niche to an extent.

Some other people have suggested a "godmode" with infinite cash for those who want something a little more engaging and fast-paced. I think it'd address the issue of downtime and a feeling of low impact/involvement that you speak of while also being a bit more true to what this mod is about. What do you think of that idea?

I'd say my suggestion is less the ability to take control of enemies, and more the ability to swap between controlling enemies and summoning them as director. I'm not saying the ability to control monster's would be fun in of itself (As you point out, there are plenty of mods that allow for that) but, specifically, the ability to control monster's in tandem with being the director would compliment it really well. Maybe to a limited extent? Like, take control of a random present enemy for 10 seconds.

That being said, it's your mod and I understand if you think that would compromise its identity.

A godmode isn't really what I'm looking for. While I do think it would reduce waiting, I think it would reduce instead of increase engagement. I like the concept of this being a non-standard pvp, with rules the director has to abide by as well.

The idea of taking control of an enemy for a limited period of time actually sounds like a pretty decent idea. Maybe it could be a reworked version of the current "Burst" mechanic? Like, instead of just carpet-buffing all enemies on screen, maybe you could take control of a specific enemy, significantly buffing it but only for a short period of time before it expires. Is that maybe more in line with what you're thinking of?
