Lab no's for microbiology should be sequential #33

Open briankip opened 10 years ago

briankip commented 10 years ago

Lab No's for Microbiology (probably for all sections) should be sequential i.e MIC-001 or M-001 and they should be unique for the lab section. i.e MIC-001 ... MIC-200, BIO-001...BIO-1000. The numbers should start afresh every new year to prevent the numbers from getting too big.

Is there like a tutorial on this, I don't know how to enable this functionality. We need like a small document on this on the wiki or something.

As per the comments on https://github.com/ilabafrica/BLIS-BDH/commit/1f88b6f399c3f11b3edc7798df76e1e343d85abd

Change the file includes/defaults.php

_SPECIMENID Format [CATSEQUENTIAL|CATAUTO|AUTO]

briankip commented 10 years ago

The process of issuing sequential ID's should start from registration, otherwise the specimen numbers will change, rendering search impossible. #43

briankip commented 10 years ago

Reverted to CATAUTO
