What steps will reproduce the problem?

Clicking on the iTMW icon when the program is running.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Bring the application window up without failure.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

0.941 with Tiger.

Please provide any additional information below.

Are you using FileVault?

Indeed, which I have just discovered is a problem.

Perhaps there is some way to detect FileVault and alert the user to the 
problem?  A
system that degrades more gracefully might save you future bug reports...
