Transcoding option - transcodes mp3 files as well as apple lossless #30

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Under preferences, select encoding tab
2. for .mp3 files select -1 as bit rate limit so that they are not re-encoded
3. Select AAC Encoder from 'Re-encode copied files with:'

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Expected output is mp3 files in itunes to be copied without transcoding to aac.
Apple Lossless
files to be converted to aac files on copy.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

0.95 of Itunesmywalkman
OS X 10.5.4

Please provide any additional information below.

I see the same problems, also with 0.95. The -1 setting has no effect. If one
file type is set to be re-encoded, all
file types get re-encoded.

Same problem here, with 0.952 / MacOSX 10.4.11 / iTunes 8.2

Also (and this is probably related?) the encoding options show erratic
behaviour.
Selecting an extension copies the name of the last set extension to the new (see
attached image. Sequence was: .m4a .mp3 .m4b, but first setting the value of
.mp3 to
-123, and then merely selecting .m4b changed the order to .m4a .mp3 .mp3).

I also attach the plist file, for that might be the culprit.
