Hi,

Since I managed to get myself locked out of my original account, all future development will continue at https://github.com/jkakavas/creepy . I ll do my best to transfer all issues there but please create new ones in the new repository from now on. See : https://twitter.com/ilektrojohn/status/547409638275448832

Sorry for my morbid curiosity, but what happened? D:

No worries, it's a short and rather educative story.

I enabled 2FA once it became available in Github, because.. Security! A couple of months back, I changed jobs so I had to change laptop / smartphone. My software token was in my smartphone which I wiped and reset to defaults before I handed it in, assured that I could use my recovery codes for the first login and setting up a new 2FA device. I then proceeded to back up my stuff from the laptop before I handed that in. Well, I "simply" forgot to backup the file with my recovery codes. I now ended up in a position where I had my password and access to my email but could not access my account :/ I asked github support for help and they were very helpful but they had no option for me to recover my account. Well, they had, but I have also neglected to backup my ssh key from my previous machine (I used this one onlyou for github)

Important lesson learned: Always and continously backup important files ;) On Mar 10, 2015 6:12 PM, "Guilherme Simões" notifications@github.com wrote:
