"sipgate" showes in sender field on recipients device not phone number.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Send text message from websms - Sipgate (.co.uk)
2. Receiving device "From field" = "sipgate"

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
My mobile number. I see "sipgate" in the "from" field on the recipents device.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Downloaded 5 minutes ago from market. Android T-Mobile G1 FW = 1.5 Kernel =
2.6.27-00392-g8312baf

Please provide any additional information below.

In sipgate connector settings, I have unticked "Use default sender" and set
"Custom sender" to my mobile number.

i think, you have to register your sender number at sipgate first.
