SMSDroid does not show photo or contact name if number is not in international fomat

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. A number saved as this: 0177...
2. SMS from this number comes in
3. SMSDroid shows only a new massage from +49177... and does not show the 
saved contact.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I only see the international number +49177...

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Samsung Spica with Android 2.1 and SMSDroid 0.0.9 beta9

Please provide any additional information below.
This is not happening with other programs like handsent sms...
