please check which conversation is missing by comparing with stock app.
please try to find out, what is different to all the other conversations.

Sorry, I can not find a difference. Number format is the same... with 23 sms
the
longest conversation... the last message is a "missing a call" message from O2.
Perhaps
the conversation will appear, if I get or write a text message to the person
from this
conversation. Should I try something else or perhaps write a message?

i have a similar problem. i have a thread which is correctly shown in the stock
messaging tool (htc desire). in SMSdroid, messages of this thread are missing
or just
dont belong into this thread.
what i did: went to a thread in SMSdroid, pressed on reply and sent an sms via
WebSMS.

update: after deleting the cache, the thread seems fine again. maybe theres a
problem
in reading/writing the cache?

as this issue is stared by 4 ppl (incl. me):
* is this still a problem for all of you?
* does clearing cache fixes the problem?

For me it's still a problem and it's not fixed by clearing the cache :/

... but the thread is there again after I sent a message to the contact.

Clearing cache at least temporarily fixed the problem. Occasionally, after
receiving a message, the
contact switches to phone number instead of name again.

Got the same problem and a way to reproduce it :)
Open smsdroid and send a sms with websms. Now during websms is sending in
background start
writing another one and send it right behind (with websms).
Both will arrive but only samstag 2 will show up in smsdroid...
Hope this helps,
Markus

Even new messages wont be shown from.this person...
Cache clearing dorsnt work.. uninstall + new install doesnt work...
What else could i try, to get the messages back in smsdroid + handle

@martin: did you do something before to this missing thread? deleting a
message? writing a message?
@markus: are both messages sent to the same person?

yes they are....
BUT I think my Problem is another Issue, as I doen't see the first sms in the
normal Android SMS App too. So this seems to be an general WebSMS Problem.
Sorry, that I didn't check this out earlier.
To sum it up: both sms will be sent out, but only second is written to system,
when sending another sms to the same person while sending first sms is still
sending.

atm the problem is hiding my girlfriends thread.
after debugging it seems to be an underlying android API problem :(
when querying the ContentProvider content://mms-sms/conversations/ it does not
show that specific thread..
androids internal database holds this thread, but it's hiding it via API.

I can confirm this with the 2.3.1. (HTC Desire)
One conversation was missing, which is shown in the stock app.
After clearing the cache another conversation disappeared together with the
contact icon of another.

One thing more to add:
The conversation that disappeared after clearing the cache belonged to a
contact which I had joined with another contact from which the Image
disappeared. Now only the number is shown in overview (as before the joining)
but the name is displayed correctly when viewing the thread.

I opend Issue 365, same Issue here, some threads are missing, in stock app i
find those missing threads, clearing the cache doesn't help, reinstall of
smsdroid does not help either. Plattform HTC Desire 2.2 stock rom

as i mentioned above: this is an issue of the android system.

I also have this problem on my HTC Desire with 2.2 stock ROM: some message
threads are missing completely in SMSDroid, although they are displayed in the
stock SMS application.
Since I'm currently starting to learn about Android development myself, I was
curious and checked out the SMSDroid source code. I played around a bit with
the ConversationProvider class and found something interesting:
If I replace the URI "content://mms-sms/conversations/" with
"content://mms-sms/complete-conversations", then SMSDroid lists all my message
threads! However, this slows down things tremendously, it takes several seconds
until the list of threads occurs. Also opening a thread afterwards is very
slow, so I'm afraid this is no real fix for the problem either :-(
