btw: as messages are not cached in internal database: does restarting smsdroid
shows
the new message?
Original comment by felix.bechstein

No, it doesn't (as clearing the cache doesn't, too).
Meanwhile I realized, that it doesn't have to do with the number the messages
are
sent from, threads with my girlfriend are happily mixed with messages from my
mailbox. While SMSdroid always shows the newest message correctly on the main
screen
(where all the threads are) messages are being mixed up when showing the whole
thread. Yesterday it showed one single message three times in one thread
(replacing
three completely different messages). When opening the regular SMS App (on HTC
Desire, not sure if this is the standard android app or some custom HTC-Sense
stuff),
then it shows the thread correctly (note: both, received messages and the one I
sent
through WebSMS)...
I don't know what this is, but pleeaase fix this, it's freaking me out.

This issue isn't fixed. I have exactely the same problem. When I delete a
message an
get another SMS shortly after that, the deleted message is shown in the
SMSdroid, but
not in the SMS/MMS Application of the phone (Milestone)

I have the same issue on HTC Legend, a send message from me is replaced by a
deleted message from yesterday in the conversation tree of smsdroid. Within
original (htc?) application the correct message is shown.

Again, smsdroid shows a deleted message. But not anymore inside a converation
tree (as mentioned above). This time a deleted message is shown in the overview
of all conversations (in the line of the contact where the begin of the last
message is shown).
Example: I received a message from contact A ("Hello Alex bla bla"). In the
overview I can see know the contact with picture and the beginning of the last
message ("Hello Alex...").
Know I receive an other message of A "Blubb blubb", and this message will be
shown in the overview. But after deleting this message, it is still shown in
overview.
