It is on a HTC desire running android 2.1 with newest versions of your
apps.
What do you mean with "is that desire running hero"?

I guess I have the same issue. Once a text is selected from the
notification bar it should be removed from the notification bar.
Now I have to manually clear the notification.
(NB I have set SMSDROID as default app for texts)
PS once read the widget itself no longer shows unread message.
Just the notification bar.
Running Desire 2.1. Rooted with custom ROM by DeViL.

Great Felix.
This seems to have resolved the
issue. Kinda logical if you think
about it.
Thanks.

Ok, this fixed it for me, too.
However, this should not be required to be set up manually.
