Multiple notifications for one SMS #225

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Set default SMS application to not notify on new SMS
2. Receive SMS

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Expected output is a single notification in the status bar, with the
sender's contact name. This is fine, but after having read the SMS in
SMSDroid and having returned to the home screen, a second notification
appears, this time with the sender's number.

Sporadically reproducable, roughly 1 out of 3 times.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Latest as of today, on Android 2.1 o2DE (Motorola Milestone).

Please provide any additional information below.

You rock ;)

It's very seldom... maybe Milestone-specific?

I'm not sure whether this is the same bug, but here it goes.

When receiving an sms I get the notification that I have _two_ unread messages
(which is false). The notification is not removed after reading the sms, too.
The conversation list does not indicate any unread messages. Notifications from
the default SMS app are turned off.

This is 100% reproducible for me, again HTC Desire with stock firmware. I'll be
on vacation for the next week, so I wont be able debug this until then.

hm. please try to go to smsdroid's main screen and press that "mark all as
read" menu button

I also have(or had) this issue. This seems to be normal when you have enabled
the notification in the default SMS/MMS Application AND in WebSMS. I disabled
that on my Motorola Milestone 2.1 (2.36) and let see if the "error" is gone.
