Weekly Project Update 3/16

India, Madelyn, and Ben were in attendance at the meeting. Claire was absent due to the amazing conference that she went to.

Things discussed

• Peer Review work
• Website
• Methods of showing data

Accomplished

• Discussed what faults we have with the elements that we are using
• Noted our issues through peer review
• Decided to save node networking for if we have extra time

To-do

• Decide how to possibly break up direct and indirect into more categories
• Decide if we want a future element
• Decide if we want a social element, such as isolation versus social presence
• Look at RNC and see if the possessive aspect is a mandatory attribute, if not make it optional
• Decide if we want an optional action of demanding or if we want that to stay as a direct form of action
• Decide if we want a sexuality tag, independent tag, or self-reliance tag
• Delve into the backgrounds of singers with regards to links to slavery and economic conditions for more background information (especially with the song Slave to the Blues)
• Talk about a time to meet on Zoom to finalize details
• Finalize attributes and discuss adding more songs to the corpus
• Start wireframing (or website sketching)
• Look over our research question and see if the elements that we are choosing still answer what we are asking or focusing on
• We need to further address XSLT

Additional Notes

• If there is a problem with getting back to the command line, hit escape followed by a shifted colon to escape the merge message. Then, type wq and hit enter
• Paying attention to when people are trying to add information to a folder (my fault!)

I think it's interesting that you're looking into background research on the artists. How and where do you plan on displaying that information on your website, or are you just doing the research for your own good in your tagging? It would be interesting to see that background somewhere on the site if it's relevant to your research question.
