Black screen with freshly installed games and enabled partial nandemu #14

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
If you try to start a disc game with enabled partial nandemu the very first
time (the game was never launched from original disc and not launched with
disabled nandemu from usbloader gx) it is resulting in a black screen.
So I have to start the game at least once with disabled nandemu (then the
discid is written to uid.sys?) and then I can enable the partial nandemu again
and the game is also working with the nand emulation.

I think that happens since daveboal disabled the uid.sys support for the
emunand.

I also have the same problem (d2x v8 b40 and d2x v7 final) in usb loader gx
(all latest development versions).
If you need any more info please tell me.

Well I think I need only a beta tester to check my fix.
In order to test it successfully the tester must have a game never launched
before on the real nand or alternatively an old bootmii backup where newest
games have never been launched.
So if you are able to reproduce this issue SYSTEMATICALLY please contact me on
one of these chats:
- #wiiflow channel on Abjects
- #usbloader-gui channel on Abjects
- #USBLoaderCFG channel on QakeNet

Very good, it means one step closer to a new beta release.
Thanks for testing

I am still having issues on some games with no save (with r41)

Excite truck - black screen on first boot, partial and full nand (fine after
extracting a save)
U Draw - Studio Artist, black screen

Will start a new thread if you want this one to remain dead

Yeah open a new issue because your problem seems slightly different from the
one described here.
Also, specify there:
- which udraw you're referring to ("UDraw Studio" or "UDraw Studio Instant
Artist")
- which loader (with version) you're using
- does the problem occur again if you remove the save from emu nand?

This post is quiet old, but sorry, I didn't find a newer one (searched for
"udraw" in all issues). I ran into the same issue with the game "Mein neues
Leben Abenteuer auf Tropicana" (SD8DSV, German PAL) and d2x v8 (r44), where I
thought this was fixed with r41. This game is older. (and cheap - and the
graphics.. no comment)

Loader: USBLoader GX 3.0 (partial nand emu)
D2X: v8 IOS249[56]
USB Gecko available: Unfortunately, no.

(Known) workaround: Play the game without nand emulation until a savegame is
created, then play the game with nand emulation and it works. You could
optionally delete the savegame from real nand, the partial nand savegame still
works.

Is this problem fixed with any d2x v9 version? I re-switched to d2x v8 because
games are loading slower than in d2x v9 beta 47.

Where's your nand emu? SD card or USB device?

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
nand path: usb1
port: outer usb port
path: /nand
format: fat32

Does this help?
