New Wii Remote + controllers will not sync

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Have a new wii remote + (since NOV 2011)
2. Launch WiiFlow
3. Wii Remote + lights go dark.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect the wiimote to work.  It goes dead and lights don't light up.  IF a 
game is launched using a different compatible wii remote, then the wii remote+ 
will wake up upon boot of game

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Issue is present in all versions of WiiFlow
