Should there be a privacy statement on the website?
Here's my suggestion/draft which will be incorrect but is a starting point -
e.g. The questions you post will be used to help you. Your public preferred name, question text and question time are stored on servers at UIUC. This information is viewable by authenticated course staff or advisors using the website queue.illinois.edu. Your question text is also viewable by other students using the same course or advising queue.
The question text and meta information (e.g., how long you waited) may also be used in aggregate or anonymous fashion by the instructor or advisor to report on or improve the quality of education, including, for example, the course and use of the queue (e.g., the number of courses, students and type of questions posed on the queue).
[Should also talk about data retention. e.g. ] Question and meta information may be archived and reviewed in an anonymized form, after the end of the semester, to help improve education at Illinois.
Is there an standard UIUC policy on privacy that we need to follow?
