I believe wings would be a good fit for Kontraption since wings can be used to improve the fuel efficiency of vehicles. Vehicles can achieve this by gaining enough speed for the wings to generate lift, reducing the amount of time the player has to use thrusters to keep them off the ground.
This could be done by quite literally just copying the debug wings and giving them a remodel/retexture and a crafting recipe.

Debug wings achieves the same result although hence the name, they are for debug purposes and shouldn't really be used in survival gameplay.
