Maxing Out Processor-excessive cycling #148

Pesterchum is maxing out my processor. I was running at under 15% tops with just Skype, usually around 5%. Under 55% with just Skype and Firefox, without downloading. I'm routinely pushing over 80 running those two and Pesterchum.... and I haven't even been getting messages. If I can run at under 10% with Skype, Pesterchum, a lighter program, should be just as low.... not five times as much.

Using a T3200 Dual Core processor, circa 2008 (He's old but I've run Pesterchum with no issues before). Have 4GB of RAM but am only monitoring CPU due to recent issues. No heat troubles.

There's also a bug in the animated gif code that causes CPU to run out of control; try disabling those.
