This game do have Linux and macOS builds, but are legacy versions without the Galaxy features and are bundled as goodies (the same applies to the every other game in the Metal Slug bundle: Metal Slug, Metal Slug X, and Metal Slug 3).
I tested the Windows version using Valve's Proton 8.0, game version is gog-3 - 26/05/2017.
This game needed extra steps to make it work. Running as it is, I got sound, but no video, only a black screen. To fix this I have to replace two DLLs in the game folders: libegl.dll version 1.3.0.0 (32 bits), libglesv2.dll version 1.3.0.0 (32 bits), and install d3dcompiler_46 via winetricks. I think this issue is unrelated to Comet, but I mention it for a complete report.
This game does not have online multiplayer.
