Network compression test reports Chrome failure #322

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Browserscope reports that recent versions of Chrome do not support compression.
The test claims to check the A-E header to determine support. My A-E header in
Chrome 18 is "gzip, deflate, sdch", so I'd expect it to pass. Is it possible the
test has a bug?

Gack, this is lame, and is a byproduct of resource-cgi.appspot.com being
overloaded. We're trying to get more resources, but for the time being I think
I should switch back to the one that cannot handle multiple concurrent requests
but which at least handles requests.
Dependencies suck.
Thanks Tony.

Someone else just pinged me about whether Chrome 19 dropped compression support
accidentally. Do you think it is worth pulling the test down until it can be
fixed?

Yeah, I agree - I should hide this test for right now until this is fixed.

Good to see I'm not the only one having issues, I've tried multiple internet
connections and even uninstalled my antivirus (it captures, scans and sends all
data on its own service). Chrome, Firefox and IE9 all fail the test even though
multiple sources say otherwise.
