Updating node.js packages in order to remove vulnerable dependencies.

As the RxJS 6 API brought some breaking changes, some code amendments were required.

Given my continuing failure to respond in an adequate time frame, I suggest we try to recruit another co-maintainer of this project. It could be you, someone else, or multiple people. One way to recruit might be to post a request on the Image.sc Forum.
