Open file on NeuronJ plugin freezing #185

Open Solanaceae2 opened 6 years ago

ImageJ freezes with I try to open a file using the plugin NeuronJ. I can navigate through folders in the load window until I reach a folder that contains image files, then the entire program freezes.

I am running the current, updated version of ImageJ on Windows 10. I have tried toggling "Use JFileChooser to open/save" and "Use file chooser to import sequences" on and off under Edit > Options > Input/Output. I've tried turning "Use SCIFIO when opening files (BETA!)" under Edit > Options > ImageJ2 on and off, but neither of these actions helped. I have also tried system restore to the earliest restore point on my computer (thinking a Windows 10 update was the issue), but no luck.

Has anyone solved this problem or have any suggestions as to how to approach this issue?

Thanks!

I can't reproduce in an up-to-date Fiji (Java 8) on Windows 10.

Could you please check whether it works for you with a freshly downloaded Fiji, or with a life-line version of Fiji?

Also, what were the exact steps causing the issue? Which image files are present in the folder?

To get more specific help, it would be useful if you paste the output of Plugins > Debug > System Information here.

Hi,

I freshly downloaded, Java, Fiji and re-installed the plugin NeuronJ and I am still getting the freezing problem.

The exact steps are: Open Fiji/ImageJ > Plugins > NeuronJ > click the open icon on NeuronJ tool bar > I can navigate through folders until I reach a folder with an image file (.bmp or .jpg) then the entire program freezes.

I'm not sure what you mean, the Plugins menu does not have a debug option, can you describe what I should do?

An up-to-date Fiji should contain a Plugins > Debug submenu. You can also find the command using the search bar: type L to activate the search bar, then search for "system info" and you can run the command with the Run button.

Hope that helps.

Thank you for your response. Yes, I installed NeuronJ by adding the ImageScience update and I found debug > system information with your instructions. This generates about 250 pages of text... should I paste all of that or is there a specific part that would be helpful?
