Anamnesis not launching, claims there is an existing process | NOT FIXED AFTER ALL #1339

For about two months or so, whenever I try to open Anamnesis with FFXIV already running, the window opens for a second or so before closing. When I try to restart Anamnesis, it says there is an existing process, but when I look for one in the Windows 10 task manager, there isn't one listed at all. After updating Anamnesis the issue persists.

Replaced old anamnesis version with version 2023-11-14, issue persists

sotarastas commented 7 months ago

Deleted existing Anamnesis and reapplied version 2023-11-14, also installed the prerequisite which my PC had apparently NOT installed previously, so it works now.

It was working for a while, then it crashed again. And upon trying to reopen, it once again says about an existing process.

And you made sure its not in taskmanager? Because the image you posted up there is of services, not nessiccesrily of running programms.

Because all that ana does is ask windows "hey, is there another process called anamnesis running?" and if windows returns yes, it refuses to open to not break your game.

Hey, here's another picture after a recent crash. It launched normally once, but when I was trying to move the window to my second monitor for easier posing, as soon as it passed between the two, it crashed. So it seems to have to do with my dual monitor setup. I currently have my second monitor hooked up to the HDMI on the motherboard, since I don't have a displayport adapter.

EDIT: I found the process by using Power Shell. So that's at least one problem solved. I'll see later if the window stays open if I use an adapter cable to plug my second monitor into the GPU

Another update on this. When the crash happens, the GUI disappears, but the process can be found via Powershell or CMD. Trying to close it through both Powershell and CMD is not possible, even with administrative privileges. Both methods essentially say access is denied
