Server still down and times out. Any update on this?
@komachi Any news on this?
ping @komachi
Hoster (Scaleway) blocked server for hosting something that they called illegal content. They didn't forward abuse to me and I have no idea what it was. They didn't give time to react to abuse, they just blocked server immediately.
I have the backup (little outdated, but still), so I'll restore img.bi sometimes later with that.
Also new version of img.bi is coming, I moved backend to nodejs and made it much easier to self-host.

Nice to hear. Maybe you'll find a better hoster, which is not so scurrilous.

Amazing news. :smiley:
Do you still control the domain as well?
Currently img.bi presents an invalid https cert and then there's a weird http login prompt.
A username and password are being requested by https://img.bi. The site says: "Autenticazione Richiesta per accesso ad EXODUS"
Any news?

Might I suggest moving to a new host where you can encrypt the data on the server, like the actual hard drive so the host can't prove or disprove what you have? Suggesting a dedicated server with encryption really.
I know these guys have really cheap rates for dedicated server and good reviews. https://www.wholesaleinternet.net/dedicated/

@i2plover Does img.bi need encrypted disk?
All images stored on img.bi are already encrypted. Browser sent encrypted data to img.bi and img.bi sent encrypted data back, only browser can decrypt it.
The problem is someone may post the link containing the key on a public place, and someone else complains about it to img.bi's host provider. IMO, an encrypted disk is not helpful in this situation.

This is the true problem. They should forward abuse to img.bi to take down questionable image. Blocking the server immediately is unreasonable to me.
Currently https://img.bi/ times out.
