Phase 1

When you're expecting and near the due date, people ask you a lot whether you've had the baby yet. It's nice, but it can be a lot.

Make a website that clearly reports whether they've had the baby yet. Make it easy to update by texting a special code to a specific phone number (using Twilio). You don't want to have to get your laptop out and push a change to update your friends and family.

Phase 2

Let anybody sign up for this as a service, create a shareable birthyet.com/alice URL (or birthyet.com/alice/<short random junk>), with an associated one-time-use update code.

A month after the site flips to "YES" you can take it down and reuse it.

Phase 3: $$$

Let people sign up and pay $ to let friends and family subscribe to updates and get a text when it flips to "YES".

Web API

• POST /new creates an Event with a unique short code and secret trigger code
  • fill in details like "what is the event"
• GET /<code> shows "Has it happened? YES / NO"
• POST /<code>?secret=<secret> flips the Event to happened, notifies subscribers
• <code> expires a month after it happened

Text API

• incoming text to SUBSCRIBE <code> subscribes the texter to the Event
• incoming text to <code> <secret> notifies subscribers of the Event

Email API

• form on /<code> has a textbox to get email notification
• generate uuid associated with that email
• send email to address with link to /<code>?subscribe=<uuid>
• GET /<code>?subscribe=<uuid> subscribes the email (links expire in 1h)
