Phase 1
When you're expecting and near the due date, people ask you a lot whether you've had the baby yet. It's nice, but it can be a lot.
Make a website that clearly reports whether they've had the baby yet. Make it easy to update by texting a special code to a specific phone number (using Twilio). You don't want to have to get your laptop out and push a change to update your friends and family.
Phase 2
Let anybody sign up for this as a service, create a shareable
birthyet.com/alice
URL (orbirthyet.com/alice/<short random junk>
), with an associated one-time-use update code.A month after the site flips to "YES" you can take it down and reuse it.
Phase 3: $$$
Let people sign up and pay $ to let friends and family subscribe to updates and get a text when it flips to "YES".
