Somewhat verbose "AY....S." declaration #8

Open immanuelhume opened 1 year ago

Since we all know what a module year is, typing out "AY....S." each time can be tiring if importing many contacts.

We can remove the need for the "AY" and "S", and just use 5 digits with no loss of ambiguity. This better caters to the target audience of fast typists.

Since the module-year appears across many commands - add, edit, find, I think it could be quite repetitive.

Team's Response

Thanks for raising this issue. We made our module format to include 'AY' and 'S' to let the users know that the module is taken in that specific academic year and sem. This formats makes it clearer for our users instead of your 5 digit solution. 22232 is not as explicit as AY2223S2. Thus we designed it this way. In fact our users do not need to type 'AY' and 'S' in caps. The module field is case-insensitive as stated in our UG, so you can just type ay2223s1 followed by the module code, and we think this is sufficiently fast and easy to do so.
