AR privacy and security repo #20

Augmented Reality on the web presents a new type of data (real-world understanding) to developers, and may also use the camera or other sensors during scene composition and rendering on certain form factors. These facts present certain threat vectors to user privacy and security.

We’re going to need a Privacy and Security Considerations section (similar to Media Capture and Streams), and possibly some normative privacy and security guidelines, for any APIs related to augmented reality.

Proposal: We should create a repo to explore privacy and security issues relating to augmented reality. This exploration will include enumeration of potential threat vectors and discussion of potential mitigations, likely in the form of multiple explainers. The output of the repo would be to provide guidance (and probably baseline text) for Privacy and Security Considerations sections of AR-related APIs.

From today's IW call it sounds like we have support for the creation of a repo in order to consolidate the group's thoughts and ideas around privacy and security for the immersive web.

I have created an empty repo: https://github.com/immersive-web/privacy-and-security

@johnpallett Would you be willing to submit a PR with a README for the repo introducing the goals of the repo and suggesting that people create Issues as the first step in any these conversations? In those Issues we can all propose pieces of useful work like explainers.
