Can you describe how the glitch acts? There are known issues in Chrome m65 that cause some visual stuttering, but I haven't seen it black out the screen like that. Does it stay mostly dark with some rendering near the top, or is it flickering? Can you reproduce this on Chrome Canary?
They are very fast flashes. Here is a video: https://youtu.be/b6SdWmfjt5I

I experience flashes also.

Thanks for the additional information -- I can't seem to recreate on my Pixel with the same browsers (m65 and m67), but I am running Android 8. I'll see if I can get my hands on an Android 7 device, I wonder if that could be the cause? Are you aware of what version of webvr-polyfill (or cardboard-vr-display) first introduced this issue?
I started noticing it a few weeks ago when I updated from 0.9.36 to 0.10.2
Is this still an issue?

Another way to reproduce: edit the three.js webvr examples to not use the origin trial and use this polyfill instead.
