OCI runtime exec failed:with baked in CLI

The bug

I try to use the new possibility to use the CLI inside immich_server. But when i call

docker exec immich_server immich upload --key abc123 --server http://192.169.178.123:2283/api /mnt/user/photos --recursive --import

the response is

OCI runtime exec failed: exec failed: unable to start container process: exec /usr/local/bin/immich: exec format error: unknown

Any ideas? I only know this error if you try to start a docker on a wrong platform architecture? Running it on a x86, a new Intel N100M Board thanks in advance

If you attach to the container and run the command, does it behave differently?

ähm.. how to do so :-)? Never used attach before?

docker attach immich_server brings me to the stanard input without any possibility to run a command

ok... attach is working using portainer if you use /bin/sh, not the default /bin/bash. Thanks!

This still shouldn’t happen from the direct exec command..

Happened to me today.

This is what worked:

First connect to the server container:

docker exec -ti immich_server /bin/sh

Then run the immich command from there:

immich upload --key ThisIsMyApiKey --server http://immich-proxy:8080/api /mnt/media/precious-memory --recursive --import

immich-app / immich
